Meet The Founder

Education, Advocate, Community Builder

After spending over a decade incarcerated, Shelton Petit-Brun discovered firsthand how education can change the trajectory of a life. Determined to turn adversity into purpose, he pursued higher education and dedicated himself to advancing justice for others facing barriers to success.

As founder of the Beacon Literacy & Justice Project, Shelton combines lived experience with academic achievement to advocate for community empowerment. His vision is simple: a future where second chances are possible, and every person can reach their full potential.
